Lt. Gross informed us of
a new in car computerized ticket writing capability in some 19th District
police cars that allows police to enter driver info once and write
multiple tickets and print them out in the car. Ticket writing has gone up
as much as 80% in some problem areas due to this efficiency which should
help change driver behavior in problem areas particularly with running red
lights and stop signs in the PSA.

Police have a city wide
program to address the quads and dirt bikes. Deploying Highway Patrol, tow
trucks and confiscating these illegal bikes. As we know (and of course
they know) the police are not permitted to chase them as it creates a public
safety issue. This initiative catches them at gas stations and garages,
etc. Report any of these illegal dirt bikers to 911 if you know where they
are being stored and driven.
Police caught the
“working van burglars” reported on last couple of meetings. They

were stolen (one had keys left in the car).criminals know the penalties
are not severe for TFA so best defense is locking your car and not leaving
